Government to discuss Poland's draft budget for 2026 on Thursday
The Polish government will hold another meeting this week to debate a draft budget for next year, the government spokesman has announced.
Adam Szlapka made the announcement during a press conference after a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
The draft budget for 2026 "will be discussed still this week as there will be another government meeting on Thursday," Szlapka said, adding that it would be followed by a special press conference.
In late April, the government had adopted macroeconomic guidelines for the years 2025-2029, which were to be the foundation of a draft budget for 2026.
According to the guidelines, in 2026, Poland's GDP is planned to grow by 3.5 percent and annual inflation is to reach 3.8 percent.
Poland's economy is expected to expand by 3 percent in 2027, by 2.7 percent in 2028, and by 2.6 percent in 2029.
A draft budget for 2026 should be filed with the Sejm, lower house of parliament, by September 30. In accordance with the constitution, it should be sent to the president for signature within four months since the day it has reached the Sejm. The president should sign it within seven days.
