Big Cheese Studio gaming says cyberattack will not impact company's financial situation

Listed video game developer Big Cheese Studio reports that the recent cyberattack, in which hackers demanded PLN 100,000 (EUR 23,700), will not impact the company's operation or financial situation, the company said in a market filing. The attack did not affect the studio's mission-critical data, including game source codes or game designs.


"The brief downtime in the company's product development work caused by the attack does not jeopardise the implementation of Big Cheese Studio's 2025 roadmap," the market filing said.

"The ransom demand received from the perpetrators of the breach, has been reported to law enforcement authorities, and the company has also made appropriate notifications of the incident to the relevant authorities and institutions" it added.

At the end of January, hackers attacked Big Cheese Studio and reported that they had gained access to game codes and sensitive data of the company's employees.

The cybercriminals threatened to release employees' personal data and game codes if the company did not pay them PLN 100,000 (EUR 23,700) in cryptocurrency.
