JSW SAJSW coal considers merging indi mines into two mining centers
Listed coking coal group JSW is working on a comprehensive business restructuring plan. One of the options being considered is merging the existing mines into two mining centers, JSW said in a press release.
"As part of preparations for developing the plan, various concepts and scenarios are being analysed to better utilise the production and resource potential of JSW facilities. One of the options being considered is merging the existing mines into two mining centres," JSW said in the press release.
The first would cover mines located in the north, KWK Knurow-Szczyglowice and KWK Budryk, while the second, southern centre would include KWK Pniowek and KWK Borynia-Zofiowka.
JSW pointed out that the merger's benefits and synergies are being closely studied. According to the group, the consolidation aims to centralise asset management, cut admin tasks, and improve production efficiency and resource use.
"Our goal is to create a more flexible, modern, and resilient organisation that can respond more effectively to market and technological changes. Consolidating the mining potential will allow us to fully exploit synergies between individual facilities and build a solid foundation for JSW’s future operations," said the acting CEO of JSW Boguslaw Oleksy, quoted in the press release.
JSW said the analytical and consultative work is currently underway. After completion, the group's management will present the final restructuring plan assumptions, which will then undergo further evaluation and implementation stages.
