Listed copper producer KGHM’s management board aims to keep electricity and gas costs at last year’s levels despite rising prices, thanks to its hedging policy, according to Piotr Krzyzewski, KGHM’s CFO.
"For the first half of 2026, we have secured over 50 percent of our gas and roughly the same for electricity," Piotr Krzyzewski told Thursday’s press conference.
"Our ambition is, despite the fact that electricity was much more expensive in January and gas is now much more expensive, to keep costs within last year’s budget so that, from the perspective of the cost curve, the price of energy does not rise compared to last year. We’ll see, because the situation is very unpredictable,” he added.
