Netto retail chain wants to open approx. 350 new shops in Poland by end-2028
Danish Salling Group, the owner of the Netto discount chain in Poland, plans to increase the number of shops in Poland by approximately 350 shops to 1,000 locations by the end of 2028, the group said in a press release.
"We have big ambitions in Poland and the coming years will make us even more relevant to Polish customers. With a target of 1,000 shops, we will grow to become a bigger player on the Polish market," said CEO of the Salling Group Anders Hagh, quoted in the press release.
Salling Group has announced the launch of its new business strategy for 2025-2028, which aims to increase the number of shops, acquisitions and mergers in existing and new markets. The group wants to spend up to PLN 7.5 billion (EUR 1.75 bln).
As reported, the group plans to establish the Salling Seeds fund, which will invest PLN 285 million (EUR 66.5 mln) in innovative startups in technology, sustainability and retail.
The core retail operations in Denmark, Germany and Poland will be strengthened.
The Salling Group's strategic goal is to achieve an annual turnover of more than PLN 57 billion (EUR 13.3 bln).
The Salling Group currently has 1,746 shops in Denmark, Germany and Poland and a turnover of PLN 40 billion (EUR 9.3 bln) for 2023.
