Orlen and KOWR enter into strategic cooperation on biogas and biomethane in Poland

Poland's largest energy concer Orlen and the governmental agriculture support body KOWR have entered into strategic cooperation in the area of construction, operation, and development of biogas and biomethane installations in Poland, Orlen announced in a press release.


As stated, the partnership supports the implementation of Orlen's strategic goals until 2035, including the utilization of up to 240 million cubic meters of biomethane per year, which will accelerate the decarbonization of transport and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Orlen's cooperation with KOWR includes the exchange of knowledge and experience, joint investment projects. Its aim is to create new production capacity in locations with high development potential.

As stated, joint activities will significantly strengthen the development of the biogas and biomethane market, which is one of the key elements of the company's strategy to increase energy independence and achieve climate goals.

The partnership covers the management of agricultural waste and its use for the production of bioLNG.
