Listed rail hauler PKP Cargo in restructuring plans to carry out further collective redundancies, which would affect up to 1,041 employees in 2025 and up to 1,388 in 2026 in various professional groups, PKP Cargo said in a market filing.
"In the opinion of the management board, despite the corrective and restructuring measures implemented to date in the area of employment, the company's situation requires further action. The initiated process is an important element of the Restructuring Plan, the details of which will be presented by the company by the end of June 2025," PKP Cargo said in the market filing.
The company further announced that the planned redundancies will be carried out by September 30, 2026, with the group layoffs planned for this year to be completed by the end of July 2025 at the latest.
"Today's commencement of consultations with trade unions regarding the intention to carry out collective redundancies will enable the company to submit the Restructuring Plan within the deadline set by the Judge Commissioner," the hauler explained.
