Poland to maintain retail sales tax and consider inclusion of online sales
Poland's Ministry of Finance will maintain the retail sales tax, analyse the inclusion of online sales and the elimination of tax optimisation, according to the ministry's evaluation of the retail sales tax.
"The results of the ex-post evaluation of the provisions of the act indicate that it is reasonable to maintain the current retail sales tax, mainly due to the fiscal advantages of this tax," Poland's Ministry of Finance assessed.
However, as it added, due to emerging doubts regarding the application of the provisions of this act, it is recommended that measures be taken to clarify the provisions that raise doubts.
The ministry pointed out that if a decision is made to introduce changes to the retail sales tax, extensive consultations and opinions on such changes will be carried out.
It stressed that no proposal to exempt fuel sales from taxation is currently being considered.
