Polenergia SAPolenergia renewables estimates PLN 161.9 mln EBITDA in Q1 2025
Listed renewables group Polenergia estimates that the group's EBITDA in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to PLN 161.9 million (EUR 38.2 mln), down by PLN 74.4 million (EUR 17.6 mln) on the prior year period, the group said in a market filing. The PAP Biznes consensus was for an EBITDA of PLN 150.4 million (EUR 35.5 mln).
In the first quarter of 2025, the group's estimated adjusted net profit amounted to PLN 60.5 million (EUR 14.3 mln), a decrease of PLN 81.4 million (EUR 19.2 mln) over the result in the prior year period.
Polenergia said that the decrease in EBITDA was mainly driven by a weaker result in the onshore wind segment (by PLN 85.1 million or EUR 20.1 mln), which is a result of lower electricity prices achieved by the farms and lower production due to worse wind than last year, as well as lower EBITDA compared to the previous year's result in the distribution (by PLN 1.7 million or EUR 400,890) and non-allocated (by PLN 3.5 million or EUR 825,370) segments.
Polenergia estimates that these effects were partially offset by a PLN 13.5 million (EUR 3.18 mln) increase in EBITDA in the trading and sales segment compared to the result recorded in the same period last year, which is mainly due to a stronger result in the other prosumer energy business due to the updating of the pre-financing provision and the adjustment of the inventory write-down, as well as a higher result in electricity trading from RES assets due to the refinement of the sales hedge.
Polenergia is slated to publish its consolidated financial report for the first quarter on May 21, 2025.
