R.POWER S.A.R.Power has financing agreement covering issuance of EUR 30 mln worth green bonds
Polish photovoltaic group R.Power has signed a financing agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, covering the issue of green bonds worth EUR 30 million, the company said in a press release. It was reported that the proceeds from the issue will be used to develop large-scale energy storage projects in Poland.
It was indicated that the issue is part of the company's green bond programme with a total value of PLN 1 billion (EUR 235.4 mln), under which bonds worth PLN 610.7 million (EUR 143.6 mln) have been placed so far. The current transaction is the first issue of euro-denominated bonds under this programme.
"The funds raised will support the development of energy storage infrastructure, a key element of the energy transition," the statement said.
"This investment will accelerate Poland's energy transition by supporting the implementation of one of the country's first independent battery energy storage projects," said Ary Naïm, country manager of the World Bank Group for Poland, quoted in the press release.
