Six bids submitted in deep foundations tender for passenger terminal of Port Polska

Six bids were submitted in the tender for the construction of deep foundations for the passenger terminal as part of the Port Polska airport investment programme. All offers are within the planned budget, with the lowest bid, worth PLN 146 million (EUR 34.6 mln) gross, submitted by listed builder Budimex.

Port Polska is a strategic investment project carried out by Poland's central transportation hub company CPK.

Friday, February 20, was the deadline for submitting bids in the tender for the construction of deep foundations for the passenger terminal as part of the Port Polska investment programme.

The contract with the selected contractor is scheduled to be signed in June this year. The pile driving works are expected to be completed by the end of 2027, with the final acceptance of the works planned for early 2028.

Nine of the largest companies and consortia with experience in the implementation of advanced infrastructure projects were invited to participate in the tender.

The bids were submitted by six entities, including three Warsaw-listed construction companies: Mirbud, Budimex and Mostostal Warszawa. Polish branch of Austrian construction group PORR, Turkish Dogus Insaat Ve Tickaret and Polish firm Pol-Aqua also submitted their offers. All bids are within the planned budget of over PLN 411 million gross.

The lowest bid (PLN 146 million gross) was submitted by Budimex.

The enforcement proceedings for the execution of works related to the construction of deep foundations, i.e. piling for the construction of the terminal, were initiated by CPK on December 12, 2025.

"We want as much of the work and services as possible to be carried out by Polish companies. We appreciate contractors with experience in the domestic market, who carry out large infrastructure investments, employ Polish staff and operate in accordance with Polish standards and regulations," said Maciej Lasek, the government's representative for CPK.

"Thanks to this, a significant part of the funds will remain in the country, creating jobs and supporting economic development," he pointed out.

The commencement of the proceedings is another step in the implementation of the strategic investment in the construction of a domestic airport terminal and confirms the transition of the Port Polska programme to the implementation phase, CPK's CEO Filip Czernicki added.

In the second half of this year, the foundations for the new airport are to be laid, he announced, emphasising that Port Polska airport will be the most modern in Europe.
