Bank Gospodarstwa KrajowegoBGK estimates Ukrainian migrants could boost Poland's budget by PLN 15.1 bln in 2024
Poland's state development bank BGK economists estimate that Ukrainian migrants could increase Poland's budget revenues by approximately PLN 15.1 billion (EUR 3.6 bln) in 2024, the bank's report showed.
This suggests that for every PLN 1 (EUR 0.24) received by Ukrainian citizens from the 'Family 800 plus' social benefits programme, they contributed about PLN 5.4 (EUR 1.29) to the Polish budget.
The analysis indicates that Ukrainians received PLN 2.8 billion (EUR 668.9 mln) from the program, highlighting its significant economic impact.
BGK's report underscores the importance of these contributions in supporting public finances, while also reflecting on the broader implications for Poland's economy.
