Poland adopts 2026 draft budget bill, deficit to reach PLN 271.1 bln
Poland's Council of Ministers has adopted the draft budget bill for 2026, submitted by the Minister of Finance and Economy, the government legislative centre CIR announced on its website. The budget deficit is expected to reach approximately PLN 271.7 billion (EUR 63.7 bln).
"State budget revenues are planned at PLN 647.2 billion, state budget expenditures will amount to PLN 918.9 billion, and the budget deficit will amount to PLN 271.7 billion," CIR announced.
"The ratio of public debt to GDP will be 53.8 percent, remaining below the 55- percent prudential threshold specified in the Public Finance Act," it added.
Revenues from individual taxes in 2026 are expected to amount to: VAT – PLN 341.5 billion (EUR 80.05 bln), excise duty – PLN 103.3 billion (EUR 24.2 bln), CIT – PLN 80.4 billion (EUR 18.85 bln), PIT – PLN 32 billion (EUR 7.5 bln).
According to the adopted draft, Poland's GDP in 2026 will grow by 3.5 percent, inflation will average 3.0 percent, and registered unemployment will stand at 5.0 percent.
The Council of Ministers has also adopted the draft strategy for public sector debt management for 2026-2029, submitted by the Minister of Finance and Economy.
The CIR announcement did not provide any details about the strategy.
