Poland to see changes in public procurement law as part of anti-blackout package
As part of the anti-blackout package, Poland's public procurement law will be amended so that domestic companies can carry out energy investments on the Polish market, as this guarantees security and sovereignty, energy minister Milosz Motyka announced at the CIRE PowerUp 2025 conference.
"We should develop renewable sources and their integration into the system, take care of available capacity, invest in the energy of the future in order to be strong in what we produce," Motyka told the conference.
"Another change in the anti-blackout package will be an amendment to the public procurement law so that, above all, Polish companies can not only enrich themselves, but also carry out these investments on our market, because this is a guarantee of security, independence and sovereignty in practice," he added.
Poland's energy minister also referred to information on the national contribution to onshore wind energy.
"Speaking of misinformation, Polish companies' share in the construction of onshore wind farms [local content - PAP ed.] is already 60 percent today, and further investments will be even higher, at 75-80 percent, depending on the project," he said.
On September 8, the Ministry of Energy and Poland's grid operator PSE announced that they are intensifying their efforts on the so-called anti-blackout package. The entire package may come into force by 2026.
