Poland sees approx. 78 pct working-age Ukrainians employed
The labour force participation of Ukrainians of working age in Poland is around 78 percent, the deputy minister of family, labour and social policy Sebastian Gajewski told the lower house of Poland's parliament, Sejm. The amount of child benefits under 800+ social programme paid to Ukrainian citizens in 2024 amounted to PLN 2.8 billion (EUR 663.9 mln) or 4.2 percent of the total.
"The labour force participation of Ukrainian citizens working in Poland is about 78 percent, against around 81 percent of employed Poles," Gajewski said.
According to him, about 780,000 Ukrainian citizens pay contributions to Poland's social insurer ZUS on an ongoing basis, which accounts for about 5 percent of Poland's social fund FUS revenues.
He added that in 2024, 284,000 Ukrainians applied for payment of 800+ child benefits under the state-subsidised social programme. The amount of benefits paid to Ukrainian citizens amounted to PLN 2.8 billion (EUR 663.9 mln) or 4.2 percent of the total.
In 2024, the second largest nation benefiting from 800+ programme was Belarusians. The benefit was also paid to five citizens of the Vatican.
"The benefit was claimed by 24,000 citizens of Belarus, Romania - 4,800, Russia - 3,900, Vietnam - 2,600," Gajewski said.
"In December, the benefit was also paid to five citizens of the Vatican," he added.
