Poland's GDP growth forecast upheld at 3.5 pct in 2026, says FinMin
Poland's economy is expected to grow by 3.4 percent in 2025 and by 3.5 percent in 2026, with inflation at 3.0 percent, Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domanski told a press conference, confirming the earlier forecasts. The draft budget for 2026 assumes defence spending of PLN 200 billion (EUR 46.86 bln), or 4.8 percent of GDP.
"Economic growth is accelerating, and we expect GDP growth to reach 3.4 percent this year. (...) In the macroeconomic scenario adopted for 2026, economic growth next year will amount to 3.5 percent, with average annual CPI inflation of 3.0 per cent and a projected wage growth of 6.4 percent [in nominal terms - PAP ed.], which means that the real value of Poles' wages will increase significantly [by 3.4 percent in real terms - PAP ed.]," Domanski said.
"Finally, lending is picking up. We are seeing the first signs of recovery in Polish exports," he added.
Poland's finance minister continued that the draft budget for 2026 includes defence spending of PLN 200 billion (EUR 46.86 bln), i. e. 4.8 percent of the total GDP. These are expenditures for the Ministry of National Defence (MON) and the Armed Forces Support Fund (FWSZ).
In its macroeconomic assumptions, the government has assumed an 8 percent increase in investment.
