Polish president sees amendment on energy prices freeze in bill on windfarms as pressure
By including an amendment on freezing energy prices for households in the wind farm bill, the Polish Prime Minister is trying to force the president to sign the bill into law - president Andrzej Duda said on Wednesday.
"The Prime Minister, by including an amendment on freezing energy prices in the wind farm law, is trying to force me to sign this law, putting me up against the wall," said President Andrzej Duda at a conference in Hague.
Earlier on Wednesday Climate and Environment Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska told a press conference that due to summer holiday break in the parliament there is no time for a full legislative process, so the energy price freeze for the fourth quarter will be proposed as an amendment to the wind farm bill.
The bill has had its second reading in the Lower House of parliament Sejm on Wednesday.
