Listed spacetech company Creotech Instruments has signed an agreement with the European Space Agency (ESA) to carry out phase A of the Twardowski mission, the first fully European lunar mission in over 20 years, the company announced in a press release. The value of phase A of the project is EUR 500,000.
Grzegorz Brona, CEO of Creotech Instruments, announced that the Twardowski mission was a project that placed Poland at the centre of European space exploration and gave it a real opportunity to make a significant contribution to international research programmes.
"It is also the first fully European lunar mission since SMART-1, enabling Poland to actively participate in shaping the European research strategy on the Moon and implementing key exploration projects," the CEO added.
During phase A, the company will formalise the mission requirements and prepare it for the next stages of development, reaching a milestone in European exploration of the Silver Globe, he announced.
Creotech Instruments is the prime contractor for the entire project and the consortium leader, responsible for the satellite platform, system architecture and mission integration.
Work will begin in January 2026 and are to last nine months.
The project is a continuation of phase 0, which was completed by the company in 2025.
