Scanway SAESA accepts project involving Scanway space tech for next stage of small lunar missions
The European Space Agency (ESA) has qualified the Mani project, implemented by NewConnect-listed space tech company Scanway and others as part of small lunar missions, for phase A/B1, Scanway announced in a press release. The total budget for the project will be approximately EUR 50 million, of which approximately EUR 8.6 million will go to Scanway.
The project is financed by ESA funds, including a Polish contribution.
The Mani project is being implemented as part of the European Space Agency's Terrae Novae programme.
It is a lunar orbiter mission whose task will be to map the surface of the Moon with the highest spatial resolution to date, opening up new exploration opportunities, including the study of the properties of regolith, the rock material covering its surface.
Scanway will develop and deliver an optical instrument for the satellite that will orbit the Moon.
