Ciech SAUS tint producer PPG inks approx. USD 310 mln deal with Polish Qemetica chemicals
The world's largest tint producer, American concern PPG has signed an approximately USD 310 million agreement with listed chemicals group Qemetica (formerly Ciech) to sell the silica products business, PPG said in a press release.
As stated, the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2024, subject to customary closing conditions.
According to the release, the transaction includes PPG's silica plants in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Delfzijl in the Netherlands.
In addition, Qemetica will lease silica production and R&D operations at PPG's facilities in Barberton, Ohio, and Monroeville, Pennsylvania. The silica products business has approximately 400 employees.
