Polenergia SAPoland's energy market regulator decides on coverage of Polenergia's OWFs negative balance
Poland's energy market regulator URE has issued decisions in favour of project companies of the offshore wind farm Baltyk II and offshore wind farm Baltyk III, in which Poland's largest private energy group Polenergia holds a 50 percent stake each, setting the price as the basis for covering the negative balance at PLN 319.60 (EUR 73.77) per MWh, in the 25-year support period, the company said in a market filing.
As stated, since 2022 the price set is subject to annual valorisation with the average annual index of prices of total consumer goods and services from the previous calendar year, as specified in the communication of Poland's stats office GUS.
As Polenergia pointed out, the commencement of work on the OWF Baltyk II and OWF Baltyk III projects took place before the URE issued its decision, which means that the price constituting the basis for the payment of the negative balance will not be subject to update under the so-called 'claw-back' procedure.
