Poland's gas infrastructure operator Gaz-System has signed an agreement with Poland's state development bank BGK for a PLN 2.2 billion (EUR 514.6 mln) loan from the national recovery plan KPO for the onshore part of the future floating LNG terminal in Gdansk (FSRU) which will be used to build 250 km of gas pipelines from the terminal.
"The agreement concerns over PLN 2 billion in funds for the implementation of the FSRU terminal construction programme. Investments in energy security are crucial to ensuring the stability and security (...) of gas supplies. These funds are being transferred to finance one of the largest strategic investments," said Gaz-System CEO Slawomir Hinc, at the signing event.
According to the schedule, the programme to locate a floating LNG terminal (FSRU) in the Gulf of Gdansk is to be completed at the turn of 2027 and 2028.
The FSRU terminal is to be adapted to receive at least 6.1 billion cubic metres of gas per year.
The FSRU programme is an investment by the gas transmission operator Gaz-System.
