RWE AGRWE power begins construction of 24 MW photovoltaic farm project in Poland
German energy concern RWE has commenced the construction of a 24 MW photovoltaic farm project in Poland, the company announced in a press release. It was reported that the green energy will power up to 10,500 households per year.
RWE indicated that the 24 MWac project named Borek consists of three photovoltaic farms with a total of around 40,000 solar panels.
"Following the launch of the Bojanowo photovoltaic farm in June from a planned portfolio of projects with a total capacity of more than 100 megawatts (MWac), the company has started construction of another large-scale photovoltaic farm in Poland," the group wrote in the press release.
"Approximately 40,000 ground-mounted photovoltaic modules will be installed in the municipality of Deszczno (Lubuskie region) in western Poland," it added.
The farm is to be commissioned in the second half of 2025.
RWE Renewables Polska manages wind farms with a total installed capacity of 541 MW and solar farms with a total capacity of 54 MWac, as well as developing further green projects and currently has photovoltaic farms with a total capacity of over 100 MW under construction.
RWE is currently developing its first Polish offshore project, the F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind farm.
