Poland's largest energy concern Orlen's subsidiary power utility Energa EBITDA after the first three quarters of 2025 rose by 12 percent year on year to PLN 3.15 billion (EUR 733 mln), while net profit reached PLN 1.17 billion (EUR 272 mln) compared with PLN 911 million (EUR 212 mln) a year earlier, the company said in its quarterly report.
The Group's total revenue after three quarters amounted to PLN 15.9 billion (EUR 3.70 bln), down from PLN 16.8 billion (EUR 3.91 bln) a year earlier.
In the third quarter alone, Energa posted EBITDA of PLN 977 million (EUR 227 mln), up 44 percent year on year, and net profit of PLN 326 million (EUR 76 mln) versus PLN 78 million (EUR 18 mln) a year earlier.
"We have begun construction of two new gas-fired combined-cycle units - one in Gdansk and another in Grudziadz. We are also modernising our distribution network, to which one-third of all RES capacity in Poland is connected, and we have investments in energy storage ahead of us. Such extensive plans are possible thanks to the Group’s strong position in the energy sector and its solid performance," said Magdalena Kaminska, acting CEO, as quoted in the press release.
During the first nine months of 2025, Energa's generation assets produced 2.4 TWh of electricity (including 1.1 TWh from renewables), while its distribution networks delivered 17 TWh and retail sales totalled 12.5 TWh.
Capital expenditure for the nine-month period rose by 9 percent year on year to PLN 3.3 billion (EUR 767 mln), with distribution accounting for the largest share (60 percent).
