JSW support plan seen taking shape; restructuring will be necessary, says state assets min.

"Meetings concerning JSW are held practically every day – a well-thought-out plan of support measures, but also necessary reforms and restructuring steps, is becoming increasingly clear on the horizon," minister Balczun wrote.

On Tuesday, October 14, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the government would do everything in its power to save JSW, or at least a significant part of it, and that the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) and the Polish defence industry could be involved in this process.

On Saturday, October 11, JSW announced that the management board had adopted a resolution to begin preparations for business restructuring aimed at stabilising the company's liquidity situation.

As stated, the first stage of the work will be to design a process to stabilise the short- and medium-term liquidity situation, including reaching an agreement with the social side on adjusting remuneration costs to the company's current situation, working out new financing terms with financing institutions and developing possible forms of support from the State Treasury.

This stage is scheduled to be completed by the end of January 2026.
