Lidl Polska to spend PLN 2 bln on investments in 2025, says CEO

Polish branch of German discount chain, Lidl Polska, is continuing its intensive development of the chain, and in 2025 the chain is planning significant investments worth around PLN 2 billion (EUR 468.2 mln), which will include the development of new shops, distribution centres and the implementation of ecological solutions, CEO of Lidl Polska Wlodzimierz Wlazlak wrote in a commentary.

"For Lidl Polska, 2024 has been a period of dynamic development and the introduction of innovative solutions that strengthened our position on the market," CEO Wlazlak assessed.

"In the passing year, we were able to achieve significant growth, both in terms of the number of customers and turnover, which testifies to the trust that consumers have in us," he added.

The CEO of Lidl Polska pointed out that the chain's strategy based on stable, organic growth and investment in shop profitability is yielding tangible results.

"Looking ahead to 2025, we plan to continue the intensive development of the chain by opening dozens of new shops and investing in distribution centres," Wlazlak reported.

"We will allocate around PLN 2 billion to this end, which will allow us not only to increase our reach but also to introduce more environmentally friendly solutions in our facilities," he added.

The CEO added that Lidl Polska's priority is to strive for climate neutrality.

"(...) which is why we have pledged that by February 2025 every car park at our shops will be equipped with electric car charging stations," Wlazlak stressed.

He said that Lidl Polska's efforts to support the export of Polish products are bringing tangible benefits.

"(...) last year more than 300 Polish companies exported their goods to 28 countries and the value of these exports amounted to nearly PLN 6.5 billion," the CEO pointed out.

"In 2025, we intend to continue this mission, strengthening our role as the largest platform for the export of agri-food goods in Poland," he added.
