Listed lender mBank plans to announce its new strategy for 2026-2030 in September, while focusing on organic growth, CEO Cezary Kocik told a press conference following the release of mBank's financial report for the second quarter.
"With the current strategy coming to an end, we would like to emphasise that we have achieved all the financial goals we set ourselves in 2021. In September, we plan to announce a new strategy with a new set of goals for 2026-2030," CEO Kocik told the conference.
"mBank is a specialist in organic growth. This will be a growth strategy," he added.
However, as the CEO stipulated, mBank will monitor the market for possible acquisitions.
"If there is a bank for sale, we will analyse it," Kocik said.
In its current strategy, mBank has been targeting a net interest margin of over 3 percent and a return on equity (ROE) of around 14 percent in 2025. In line with this strategy, the bank's risk costs in the medium term were to amount to approximately 0.8 percent. The cost-to-income ratio planned for 2025 was to be below 40 percent.
Currently, the net interest margin is 4.2 percent, the ROE is 17.8 percent, risk costs are 0.46 percent, and the C/I ratio is 30.9 percent.
