Poland adopts changes to copper and silver mining tax, MinFin says

Poland's Council of Ministers' Standing Committee has adopted changes to the tax on copper and silver mining, according to a letter from the Ministry of Finance to the Secretary of the Council of Ministers.


According to the letter, the Committee has adopted and recommended the draft bill to the Cabinet.

Poland's finance ministry has prepared an amendment to the act on tax on the extraction of certain minerals, which aims to reduce the tax burden on copper producers in order to enable the implementation of investment plans related to the role of copper in the transformation of the economy as a key product for clean energy technologies.

On October 6, the ministry announced that it had decided to cover silver with the same regulations as copper mining.
