Smyk opens first stationary store in Slovakia, plans to open outlets in other countries
Smyk, the Polish group owning a chain of shops selling children's goods, has opened its first stationary store in Slovakia, and in 2025-2026, the group plans to open its own stores in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, Smyk announced in a press release.
"We have also successfully implemented this proven omnichannel model in Romania, where we already have over 30 of our own stores, as well as an online store and a mobile app. We intend to replicate it in other Central and Eastern European markets, first in Slovakia, and then in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria," said Smyk's CEO Michal Grom, quoted in the press release.
"At the same time, we want to strengthen our leading position in Poland, further develop the Smyk group's operations in Romania and expand our current cooperation with partner stores operating in another 20 international markets," he added.
At the end of 2024, the group's sales network comprised 250 own stores in Poland and 33 in Romania, located in the best shopping centres and retail parks.
Smyk also operates on a limited scale in Ukraine (11 stores at the end of 2024).
In 2024, the group's sales revenue reached approximately PLN 2.25 billion (EUR 527.4 mln), an increase of approximately 6 percent year on year. The operating profit generated last year amounted to approximately PLN 118.9 million (EUR 27.9 mln), against around PLN 62.2 million (EUR 14.6 mln) in 2023.
