Social side fails to reach agreement on Poland's minimum wage during Social Dialogue Council
Social side representatives fail to reach agreement on minimum wage during Social Dialogue Council, according to a statement from the sitting.
The labour unions: OPZZ, NSZZ 'Solidarnosc' and FZZ believe that the increase in the minimum wage in 2026 should be no less than 7.48 percent (to at least PLN 5,015 or EUR 1,170.2).
However, the joint proposal of the employers' organisations: BCC, Konfederacja Lewiatan, Pracodawcy RP, PTG, ZPP and ZRP states that the increase in the minimum wage should be based on the index resulting from the current law, i.e. it should not exceed PLN 50 (EUR 11.7) (resulting in a maximum of PLN 4,716 or EUR 1,100.5).
"The social side representatives have not managed to reach a common position on this issue," the letter states.
The government, in turn, proposes that from January 1, 2026, the minimum wage should be PLN 4,806 (EUR 1,121.5), which means an increase of PLN 140 (EUR 32.7) compared to the current minimum wage, i.e. 3 percent.
