Work on Poland's mortgage subsidy programme in final phase
Work on Poland's mortgage subsidy programme is in its final stage, the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology MRiT does not expect an increase in housing prices, MRiT said in response to a parliamentary question.
"Work on the draft law, which will set out the detailed conditions of the mortgage subsidy programme, is currently in its final stage. On March 7, a request for the introduction of the project to the List of Legislative Work of the Council of Ministers was submitted to the Government Work Programming Team," MRiT stated.
In mid-February, the ministry presented the ‘First Keys’ programme. This programme is aimed at people with average incomes who, in the absence of State assistance, would not be able to afford to buy their own flat.
"Given that there is no possibility to buy a property from a developer in this programme, the project proponent does not expect a significant impact on the primary market," the MRiT wrote.
"Only flats built by housing cooperatives and social housing initiatives, with a margin of no more than 25 percent, are covered by the possibility of buying property from the primary market in this programme," it added.
