Poland buys around 900 zero-emission buses and 600 charging points from EU funds in 2024
Poland has signed agreements to finance the purchase of more than 900 zero-emission vehicles and the construction of nearly 600 charging points throughout the country, PLN 2.7 billion (EUR 633.5 mln) from EU funds under the national recovery plan KPO has been spent on these investments, the Ministry of Climate and Environment has announced,
"Nationwide in 2024, we have signed agreements for the purchase of more than 900 zero-emission vehicles and the construction of nearly 600 charging points. In total, we have spent PLN 2.7 billion on these investments with funds from the national recovery plan KPO," the ministry wrote.
It was reported that as part of the third edition of the Polish recovery programme for green public transport, agreements have been signed with 73 cities, which will fund the purchase of 902 zero-emission buses and 593 charging/refuelling points for these vehicles.
"Across Poland, 76 agreements have been signed for subsidies from the national recovery and resilience plan, amounting to almost PLN 2.7 billion, and 22 agreements for loans from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOSiGW), amounting to PLN 69 million," it added.
The green public transport programme, implemented by Poland's National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOSiGW), is aimed at public transport operators and providers. Subsidies reached up to 90 percent of eligible costs.
