Poland's budget sector wage increase of 3 pct in '26 may increase budget costs by around PLN 6.8 bln - MinFin
The government's proposed 3.0 percent increase in budget sector wages in 2026 is a cost to the budget of around PLN 6.8 billion (EUR 1.6 bln), Deputy Finance Minister Jurand Drop told a meeting of Poland's Social Dialogue Council (RDS).
"A salary increase of 3 percent in 2026 means an expenditure for the state budget of approximately PLN 6.8 billion. In turn, each additional percentage point would mean an additional increase in costs for the budget of approximately PLN 2.3 billion," Drop said.
The government is proposing an average annual salary increase rate in the state budget sphere in 2026 of 103 percent in nominal terms, which means that salaries and base amounts in 2026 will be adjusted by 3 percent, this is by the projected average annual inflation for 2026.
