PGE SAPoland's energy market regulator concludes second cogeneration bonus auction
Poland's energy market regulator URE has settled the second auction for the cogeneration bonus in 2025; support will be provided to five producers, including companies from the Veolia group and Kogeneracja, according to a statement by URE. The value of the contracted support is PLN 1.5 billion (EUR 350 mln).
"The URE chairman has decided on the second auction this year for a cogeneration bonus for entities producing electricity and heat in combination. The support will go to five companies that have committed to producing, feeding into the grid and selling over 6 TWh of energy from high-efficiency cogeneration," the URE announced.
"The value of the contracted support is nearly PLN 1.5 billion, which represents 91 percent of the total support offered in this auction" it added.
The second auction this year was held between June 10 and 12. Nearly PLN 1.65 billion (EUR 385 mln) was available for distribution, and over 22.6 TWh of generated energy could be covered by the support.
