Poland's Prime Minister announces radical proposal to depoliticise state-owned companies
Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced told a press conference that he would propose a radical change for the depoliticisation of state-owned companies. He added that he would not allow the practice of cronyism to prevail in the government.
"When it comes to depoliticising state-owned companies, I will propose a radical change, but I will not allow any games to be played in this matter. Anyone who has known me since my first day as Prime Minister in 2007 knows that I am obsessed with nepotism and cronyism," said Tusk when asked about ruling coalition party Polska 2050's proposals on depoliticising state-owned companies.
He added that he would not allow the philosophy of "we take care of our own" to prevail in the government.
"I am not always effective, there are thousands of decisions, thousands of different officials and different motivations, but wherever the Prime Minister can (...) I react immediately and very brutally when I see nepotism or cronyism," he said.
