Polish firms' demand expectations with no significant q/q changes - c. bank
The demand expectations for the second quarter of 2025 have not changed significantly in quarterly terms, remaining below the long-term median, according to Poland's central bank NBP latest 'Quick Monitoring' survey.
Poland's central bank NBP reported that the stabilisation of forecasts occurred with higher demand expectations among producers of consumer goods (both durable and non-durable) than a quarter ago and less optimistic expectations among producers of other categories of goods.
"At the same time, a stabilisation of the demand forecast index was recorded among non-exporters and non-specialised exporters. Among specialised exporters, on the other hand, there was a slight increase in this indicator, correlating with slightly better export forecasts," NBP said in the report on the survey.
Improvements in export forecasts were recorded by most of the industries surveyed, with them particularly marked among producers of capital goods and supplies. The least optimistic export forecasts were formulated by consumer services companies
On an annual basis, on the other hand, companies expect demand and exports to increase slightly more than forecast a quarter ago.
"The improvement in annual demand forecasts concerned the vast majority of industries, with forecasts remaining markedly mixed. In contrast, the scale of the
of the expected recovery in exports is similar across all sectors of the economy," the central bank reported.
