Significant fluctuations in EUA allowance prices in June
There were significant fluctuations in EUA allowance prices in June, according to a report by the emission management authority KOBIZE.
KOBIZE reports that prices first rose from around EUR 70 to EUR 75 (in the first half of the month), the highest level in four months, and then fell to around EUR 68.
"The main factors influencing the volatility of allowance prices were higher energy prices and settlement prices achieved at auction, as well as profit-taking by investors," KOBIZE reports.
According to analysts, the June increase in allowance prices did not fit the seasonal pattern seen so far.
In June 2025, allowance prices fell by approx. 2 percent, while the average price change for that month in previous years 2013-2024 was approx. +4.5 percent.
