UPDATE: Poland's economy projected to grow by 3.7 pct in 2025 - FinMin
Poland's GDP is expected to rise by 3.7 percent this year, the Ministry of Finance has reported.
The government has adopted a draft of multi-year macroeconomic guidelines for the period 2025-2029, the ministry reported on Tuesday.
"In 2025, Poland's economic growth will further accelerate - the GDP increase will reach 3.7 percent," the ministry wrote in a statement, adding that the growth would be mainly driven by a rise in domestic demand, private consumption and investments.
Investments are planned to increase by 8.9 percent in 2025, it added.
The GDP was planned in the budget law to grow by 3.9 percent in 2025.
"The prospects of Poland's economy have been burdened with a high level of uncertainty due to external factors - the US customs policy and its effects as well as the possibility of war escalation in Ukraine, and economic sentiment in Germany - the ministry wrote.
Annual average inflation CPI will reach 4.5 percent in 2025, up from 3.6 percent in 2024.
"Inflation will remain above the central bank target chiefly due to energy prices, especially gas prices for households, which have gone up by 6 percent since the beginning of 2025," the ministry added.
"Unemployment in Poland continues to remain on a historically low level and this trend is unlikely to change. BAEL unemployment is expected to grow to 3 percent in 2025 from 2.9 percent in 2024," it wrote.
According to the ministry, the general government debt is estimated to reach 57.8 percent of GDP in 2025, up from 55.3 percent in 2024.
The general government deficit is expected to amount to 6.3 percent of GDP in 2025, the ministry concluded.
Poland's economy is expected to expand by 3.5 percent in 2026, by 3 percent in 2027, by 2.7 percent in 2028 and by 2.6 percent in 2029. Inflation is planned to reach 3.8 percent in 2026, 3 percent in 2027, 2.8 percent in 2028 and 2.5 percent in 2029. (PAP)
