Jeronimo Martins SGPS SAPoland's anti-trust watchdog questions Jeronimo Martins promotional campaign practices
The head of Poland's anti-trust watchdog UOKiK has questioned Jeronimo Martins Polska's practices in the 'Magia rabatow' promotional campaign and imposed an obligation on the owner of the Biedronka chain to grant funds to customers who have not used the voucher, the UOKiK informed in a press release.
UOKiK head Tomasz Chrostny said that as part of the obligation to change practices, Jeronimo Martins Polska will provide new vouchers for the affected customers worth PLN 150 (EUR 35.15). They will be granted automatically to the Moja Biedronka card within 14 days of the decision becoming final.
The benefits apply to customers of the Biedronka network who have shopped as part of the promotional action "Magia Rabatow" between December 1-3, 2022, received a promotional voucher but have not redeemed it and are still in the network's loyalty programme.
Those who meet these criteria will automatically receive a voucher worth PLN 150 (EUR 35.15) from the company for each previously unused voucher.
"Holders of the Moja Biedronka app or card were encouraged by the chain to purchase three products from the books and/or toys category, and they were to receive half of the amount spent on these products in the form of a voucher printed on their receipt. The voucher could be used for further purchases. However, the adverts placed in the shops lacked the exact list of products that could be purchased," UOKiK said.
