PGE unit's obtains more than PLN 337 mln in financing for smart grid development

Listed power utility PGE's unit PGE Dystrybucja's five branches have obtained financing for a total of 37 tasks in the field of smart grid construction and modernization. The company has received support under the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment 2021-2027 (FEnIKS) programme ) in a total amount of more than PLN 337 million (EUR 77.7 mln), PGE Dystrybucja said in a press release.


"The tasks that are part of the financing agreements signed today include 37 diversified investments for the modernization of distribution power infrastructure. The reconstruction of the distribution network within the framework of the funds obtained will increase the possibility of connecting new RES sources and improve the stability of energy supply to consumers by reducing energy losses in power grids," said Jacek Drozd, CEO of PGE Dystrybucja.

In May and July of this year, the company signed grant agreements under the European Funds for Eastern Poland Program. The value of the subsidy is more than PLN 226 million (EUR 52.1 mln).
