AB SAAB distributor's board proposes dividend of PLN 3 per share
Listed distributor of IT, household appliances and consumer electronics AB's management board has proposed a dividend of PLN 3 (EUR 0.73) per share from the profit of the 2023/2024 financial year, which would represent a 50 percent year-on-year increase in the dividend, the group said in a press release.
"We have reduced our net financial debt almost tenfold year-on-year, and at the end of December we had accumulated PLN 300 million of cash. Our net debt to EBITDA ratio fell to just 0.2," said the deputy CFO of AB Group Grzegorz Ochedzan, quoted in the press release.
"While we traditionally take a conservative approach to the size of the dividend, with a primary focus on driving business growth, we have assessed the space for a direct payout to shareholders from the profit of the closed 2023/2024 financial year positively and are proposing, as a board, a PLN 3.00 dividend per share. This represents an increase by half compared to the previous financial year, and realistically even more, given that it lasted an uncharacteristic five quarters," he added.
A total of almost PLN 48.6 million (EUR 11.76 mln) would be earmarked for the dividend and the payment would be made in April. The dividend will be decided at a general meeting convened for March 20.
As stated, outside of closed periods, AB Group transfers funds to shareholders through share buybacks of up to PLN 100 million (EUR 24.2 mln).
