Grupa Azoty SAAzoty chemicals signs letter of intent with Nitro-Chem in explosives production area
Listed chemicals group Azoty has signed a letter of intent with Nitro-Chem on the cooperation in the field of explosives production, Azoty announced on X.
"This is another step in building a new business segment related to the production of high-energy materials and expanding cooperation with the Polish Armaments Group [PGZ - MI ed.]. In addition to activities related to the launch of nitrocellulose production in Tarnow, we want to expand our cooperation with Nito-Chem, a company belonging to PGZ," said Azoty's CEO Andrzej Skolmowski, quoted on the X platform.
"(...) At Grupa Azoty, we have design offices specialising in the implementation of this type of chemical project. We do not rule out deeper involvement in the project," he added.
It was reported that the main objective of the agreement is to ensure the continuity of the supply chain of raw materials necessary for the production of explosives and cooperation in the design of production facilities. The companies also plan to jointly raise funds for the construction of a new TNT facility.
