CI Games SECI Games optimistic about future; sees potential for further growth
Listed video games developer CI Games is optimistic about the company's future, upholding their strategic pillars and the target release date for project '3' set for 2026 and the target early access release date for project 'Survive' set for 2025, the company's CEO Marek Tyminski told a videoconference.
"I am absolutely optimistic about our studios' and [whole company's - PAP ed.] future for the next couple of years, I think the company is very well positioned for further growth in that industry, which is more challenging than it was few years ago. But we are absolutely well positioned (...)," Tyminski said.
"There’s not really a change here [to the strategic pillars and timeline – PAP ed.] since the last presentation, a thing we can highlight is project '3' and project 'Survive' and then all our potential projects that we have, including Sniper Ghost Warrior that is still performing well for the group," he added.
The CEO said that he sees a possibility of teaming up with one of the biggest publishers, and them helping to finance one of the company’s projects.
"As we communicated before, we have a number of different options to finance the growth of the business and one of that is a capital raise but as we clearly said we would also be willing to contact with the publishers for further, more advanced conversations with some of them," the CEO said.
Tyminski added that he sees other options for raising the company’s capital, one of them being bonds.
Asked whether the issue of new shares had not taken place through lack of interest, the CEO denied.
"Some people, as I’ve heard, suppose that there was not enough interest [in the company’s shares – PAP ed.], that’s not true. There was a lot of interest, I don’t want to go into further details but not having interest is not true,” the CEO stressed.
Asked about the release date of project 'Survive', the CEO said that there is still substantial risk.
"We are saying it’s 2025, but we also made it very clear that there is substantial risk for that game to be released in 2025. We don’t have more information that we can share right now. Once we have that information, we will share it with investors,” Tyminski announced.
At the end of April 2024, the company assessed the premiere date for project 'Survive' set for 2025 as jeopardized, following an analysis carried out by an external agency specializing in evaluating projects in various stages of development.
On May 10, the company waived the original deadline of May 10 for the launch of the vertical slice stage of the game within the project 'Survive'.
The CEO said that CI Games wants to develop its Sniper Ghost Warrior franchise further.
„We want to develop that franchise further, the problem we have here is that developing first person shooters is expensive and it’s only more expensive than it was a couple of years ago,” Tyminski said.
"(...) We understand the genre very well but before we kick off that project, we need to find the right way to take that project in terms of the right team, internal or external. (...) So that when we have that game launch, it can be really financially successful," he added.
