Cyfrowy Polsat SACyfrowy Polsat contracts total of 44 MW in 2029 capacity market auction
Listed media and telecom group Cyfrowy Polsat contracted a total of 44 MW of capacity obligation for a company belonging to the Cyfrowy Polsat capital group - Biopaliwa i Wodor, with a 17-year capacity agreement, as a result of the capacity market auction for 2029, the company announced in a market filing.
The contract concerns a new biomass unit, which is to be built on the basis of the modernisation of an installation previously used for the production of energy from lignite. Biopaliwa i Wodor has already carried out a similar modernisation in the past.
The auction ended in the first round with a price ranging from PLN 492.09 (EUR 115.63)/kW/year to PLN 536.80 (EUR 126.14)/kW/year.
It was announced that the expected total revenue from the above-mentioned capacity agreement over a period of 17 years from 2029 may amount to at least PLN 368 million (EUR 86.1 mln), with the price of the capacity obligation for the long-term capacity agreement subject to annual indexation by the average annual consumer price index starting from the second year of supply.
The above information does not constitute the final results of the capacity market auction. The preliminary results of the auction will be published by PSE SA within 3 working days of its completion.
The final results of the capacity auction will be announced by the chairman of Poland's energy market regulator URE in the Public Information Bulletin on its website on the first working day following the 21st day after the end of the capacity auction. Until then, all capacity obligation sales agreements are conditional.
