Hungarian Wizz Air to launch 11 new routes from Warsaw-Modlin airport
Wizz Air will launch 11 new routes from Warsaw-Modlin airport, the company announced during a press conference in Warsaw. It added that two Airbus A321neo aircraft will be stationed at the airport from December 2025.
"After successful negotiation, discussion and agreement with management of Modlin airport, we are going to deploy two new Airbus A321neo to Modlin airport starting from December. The first aircraft on December 1, the second aircraft from the middle of December. With that, we are going to offer 11 new routes uh to eight countries," Roland Tischner, Wizz Air Hungary Operations Officer told the conference.
Flights will be offered to Bulgaria, Italy, Greece, Norway, Moldova, Spain, Cyprus and Malta.
The signing of the agreement will also create over 80 new jobs at Warsaw-Modlin Airport.
Wizz Air carried approximately 63 million passengers in 2024 and plans a 15-20 percent increase in capacity in 2025.
"Regarding this year, our plan is to carry 75 million passengers. That's approximately 20 percent more than the previous year," Tischner added.
Wizz Air is a Hungarian airline with a fleet of 230 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The airline operates over 600 routes from 25 operating bases in Central and Eastern Europe.
