JSW SAJSW coal launches new longwall in Budryk mine with over 1.6 mln coking coal reserves
Listed coking coal group JSW has launched the Bw-1 longwall in the Budryk mine in seam 405/2, which has reserves of over 1.6 million tonnes of coking coal, the company said in a press release.
The wall will be in operation until May 2027.
"The commencement of operation of the Bw-1 wall in seam 405/2 is not only the next stage in the development of the Budryk mine, but also an important step towards increasing coking coal yield to the target level of 95 percent of total output," said JSW's deputy CEO Adam Rozmus, quoted in a press release.
As he added, the launch of the longwall coincides with the start of trial operations of another strategic investment, namely the expansion and modernisation of the processing plant, which aims to maximise coking coal production.
Two longwalls are currently in operation at the Budryk mine. A total of 20 longwalls are in operation at all JSW mines.
