Listed copper group KGHM is expanding the surface infrastructure of the GG-1 shaft, KGHM announced in a press release. The current stage of work is scheduled for completion in September 2029.
"The GG-1 shaft is one of the key investments for the future of KGHM and the implementation of the plan to exploit the concession deposits in ZG Rudna and ZG Polkowice-Sieroszowice [mining plants - MI ed.]," said the CEO of KGHM Polska Miedz Andrzej Szydło, quoted in the press release.
"(...) KGHM pays particular attention to limiting the impact of its operations on the natural environment. That is why we attach such importance to environmentally friendly solutions within the infrastructure of the new shaft," he added.
