Orlen energy inks another deal to supply 100 mln cubic metres of natural gas to Ukraine

Poland's largest energy concern Orlen and its Ukrainian counterpart Naftogaz have signed the third purchase and sale agreement for 100 million cubic metres of natural gas that will be delivered to Ukrainian consumers, Orlen said in a press release. The signed memorandum will bring a total of 300 million cubic metres of gas from the US to Ukraine.


"Another agreement with Naftogaz is evidence of Orlen's growing importance as a natural gas supplier in the region. Our cooperation contributes to strengthening Ukraine's energy security based on Orlen's diversified gas portfolio and the effective use of the Polish transmission infrastructure," said Orlen's deputy COO Robert Soszynski, quoted in the press release.

"We are ready to further support Ukraine in accessing stable and diversified gas sources," he added.

The letter of intent between Orlen and Naftogaz on cooperation in gas supplies to Ukraine was signed in March. On its basis, the companies have so far concluded three contracts with a total volume of 300 million cubic metres.
