Poland likely to see prices of petrol and diesel stabilising in coming days - e-petrol (opinion)

The prices of autogas in Poland will rise in the coming week, while petrol and diesel retail prices may stop increasing, due to falling wholesale prices, the market researcher e-petrol assessed in its retail price projection for December 2-8.

"With diesel increasing by PLN 0.10 and petrol and LPG by PLN 0.05 per litre over the course of the week, many car owners have certainly begun to fear that this is not the end of the rises," the experts wrote.

"The rise in retail fuel prices is a result of recent wholesale increases, but there is hope that the situation may soon change, as fuel prices at refineries were no longer rising in the week coming to an end," they added.

As the researcher pointed out, currently, the average price of Pb95 unleaded petrol at Polish producers (at Orlen and Saudi Aramco) is PLN 4,649 (EUR 1,079.96) net per 1,000 litres - PLN 44.80 (EUR 10.41) less than last Friday.

Diesel has also been steadily decreasing over the last few days and today its average price is PLN 4,901 (EUR 1,138.50) net per 1,000 litres. The fuel is currently PLN 49.60 (EUR 11.52) cheaper at wholesale than last Friday.

"Looking at wholesale price lists, it is clear that this week the prices of PB95 petrol and diesel have maintained the price gap between them at the level of PLN 250-260. According to e-petrol's forecasts, fuel producers in Poland may still reduce prices on Saturday," e-petrol experts reported.

According to the researcher's analysis, in the coming week (December 2-8) the prices of PB98-octane petrol will be within a range of PLN 6.75 (EUR 1.57) and PLN 6.87 (EUR 1.60) per litre.

The price of unleaded petrol PB95 will be in the range of PLN 6.03 (EUR 1.40) and PLN 6.14 (EUR 1.43) per litre.

In the case of diesel, e-petrol experts expect a price range between PLN 6.15 (EUR 1.43) and PLN 6.26 (EUR 1.45) per litre.

LPG (autogas) is expected to cost PLN 3.18-3.26 (EUR 0.74-0.76) per litre at most stations.
