Poland's Tax authority overrules power utility Tauron's loss of tax capital group status

Listed power utility Tauron received a decision from Poland's Tax Administration Chamber in Warsaw to overrule in its entirety the decision of the head of the First Mazovian Tax Office in Warsaw on the loss of the company's status as a tax capital group, the company said in a market filing.


As stated, the decision of the head of the Tax Administration Chamber in Warsaw was issued as a result of an appeal filed by Tauron on January 10 against the decision of the head of the First Mazovian Tax Office in Warsaw.

In addition, it was indicated that Tauron and its green energy subsidiary Tauron ZE are continuing legal action to repeal retroactively the effects of the merger of the acquiring company with the 10 limited partnerships and thus reduce Tauron's share in Tauron ZE's share capital from 100 percent to 62.5 percent.

"The retroactive repeal of the effects of the merger of the acquiring company with the acquired companies determines that the status of the Tauron tax capital group is maintained," it wrote.
